about dermal / chemical peels

Despite the name, chemical (dermal) peels are a gentle, effective way to refresh and improve your skin. A carefully formulated solution is applied to exfoliate the outer layers, revealing smoother, brighter skin. This process happens naturally over time—we simply speed it up in a controlled way.

Peels can be tailored in strength, from light treatments for a fresh glow to more targeted options that help with pigmentation, fine lines, and overall skin texture.

I trained at Harley Academy in London to deliver safe, professional peels from superficial to medium depth, with experience across multiple products and brands. This allows me to choose what’s best for your skin, rather than being restricted to one range.

To keep things simple and personalised, I offer one treatment option, with your peel tailored entirely to your skin and goals, whether that is a boost before a special occasion or more visible improvements.

do i need a consultation first

Having a consultation first means we can have a dedicated time to go through your background, history, and discuss your skin goals, what you want to achieve and how we can work together to achieve it.

In come cases, it may be helpful to think about combining treatments in order to get the results you would like, or it may be that certain skin prep routines before a treatment can give you the very best results.

You’re welcome to book a treatment without a consultation, though this may reduce the time available and the results you achieve

A consultation is a one-off visit. You don't need to have another consultation unless there’s a significant change to your concerns or any future treatments I introduce specifically require it.

what happens at my appointment?

If you’ve already had a consultation, we can move straight into your treatment with your personalised plan in place.

If you’re booking directly, we’ll begin with a short discussion about your skin, routine, medical history, and goals before starting your treatment.

Your experience is fully tailored, from the treatment itself to the feel of the room—whether you prefer calm and cosy or light and refreshing.

I use carefully selected, results-focused products from Neostrata, Clinicare and Obagi enabling me to treat a wide range of superficial to more in-depth skin problems.

results & aftercare

There may be some redness, dryness, or light peeling after your treatment, depending on the depth and type of peel. This is known as “downtime” and is usually mild—similar to light sunburn—and will be discussed with you beforehand.

To minimise downtime, focus on gentle cleansing, hydration, and daily sun protection. I provide a luxury aftercare package with full-size products (no samples) to support your skin and optimise results.
Please note: contents may vary, and SPF is selected based on your individual skin needs.

You may notice an improvement in skin tone and glow quite quickly, with continued benefits developing over the full skin cycle (around 4–6 weeks). Consistent aftercare, sun protection, and regular treatments will help achieve the best long-term results.

FAQ's

Is there anyone who shouldn't have a peel?

Almost anyone is suitable for a peel, but there are a few reasons why you wouldn't be suitable:

  • Collagen disease, autoimmune disease or any bullous skin conditions

  • Poorly controlled systemic disease, e.g. thyroid issues, diabetes, cancer

  • Areas with warts, or active cold sores

  • If you have sunburn, windburn or any other skin irritation or infection

  • Currently using oral retinoids, or have used them in the last 6 months

  • Have had cryosurgery, radiation treatment, or other surgery in the last 6 months

  • Have not fully healed from a recent cosmetic / aesthetic procedure

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • History of keloid scars

  • Known allergies to any of the ingredients in the solution.

Does it hurt?
You may feel a mild tingling or warmth during treatment, but it is generally well tolerated.  For some peels, I need you to tell me on a scale of 0-10 how warm / tingly your treatment is so that I know when to stop the treatment.  Other, self-neutralising peels, have no effect.

Will my skin peel?
Not always. Some people experience light flaking, while others have little to no visible peeling.  With good aftercare and hydration, this can be reduced very effectively.

Is there any downtime?
Downtime is usually mild and depends on the depth of peel chosen, and will be a factor in the brand and solution that I use for your treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
A single treatment is effective for a special occasion or event, and will result in smoother, more radiant skin after we remove the dead, dull skin cells on the top of our skin.  For more aesthetic or aging problems, an initial course of treatment followed by regular maintenance treatments will give the best results.

When will I see results?
Smoother skin and texture improvements in acne skin can be seen with 1-3 peels.  Deeper textural changes, such as lines, wrinkles, scars, skin thickness require multiple peels, but noticeable improvements can be seen after 3-6 peels.  Occasionally we may recommend combining peels with other treatments for the best results

Can I have a peel before an event?
Yes, lighter peels are great before events, but timing will be advised to suit your skin.  I would say leave 7-10 days between having treatment and the event, especially if you have not had a peel before.

Are peels safe for sensitive skin?
Yes, when properly tailored. Your treatment will be adjusted to suit your skin type.  Peels are also highly under-rated for those who suffer with acne / congested skin, as exfoliating the top layer will help release the trapped debris under the skin which causes uncomfortable spots and lesions.

What areas of the body can you have treated?

You can have a peel on your back, shoulders, arms, legs, hands.  It's great for 'bacne' or for removing surface pigmentation on the arms and hands and allowing better penetration of moisturisers

What should I avoid after a peel?
I will give you aftercare instructions, but you should avoid picking / scratching the skin, rubbing or pulling any peeling areas, active ingredients in your cosmetic / beauty products, strenuous exercise, excessive heat or sauna, and swimming.  You should also clean your mobile phone and change your pillow case.

Do I need to wear SPF after a peel?
Yes, daily SPF is essential to protect your skin and maintain results.  Even on cloudy days, UV rays can penetrate cloud cover and cause damage.  SPF30 or above is advised everyday, but it doesnt have to be a seperate product, check for skincare, moisturisers and makeup that already contain SPF.
