about microneedling
Microneedling is a gentle, effective treatment designed to encourage your skin’s natural repair and renewal process. Using fine sterile needles, tiny micro-channels are created in the skin to increase absorption of active ingredients, stimulate collagen and elastin production & help improve overall skin texture and appearance.
Treatments can be tailored to target individual concerns by changing the depth which the needle penetrates and using different active ingredients to needle into the skin
I trained at Harley Academy in London to deliver safe, professional microneedling treatments using evidence-based techniques and carefully selected products to suit different skin types and concerns.
To keep things simple and personalised, I offer one microneedling treatment option, fully tailored to your skin and goals—whether you’re looking for overall skin rejuvenation or more targeted improvements over time.
Can anyone have Microneedling?
Almost anyone can have a Microneedling treatment, but there are cases where care needs to be taken to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation in those with darker skin types. If you have darker skin, please book a consultation with me before treatment (unless you have had treatment and used any tyrosinase inhibitors before)
do i need a consultation first
Having a consultation first means we can have a dedicated time to go through your background, history, and discuss your skin goals, what you want to achieve and how we can work together to achieve it.
In come cases, it may be helpful to think about combining treatments in order to get the results you would like, or it may be that certain skin prep routines before a treatment can give you the very best results.
You’re welcome to book a treatment without a consultation, though this may reduce the time available and the results you achieve
A consultation is a one-off visit. You don't need to have another consultation unless there’s a significant change to your concerns or any future treatments I introduce specifically require it.
what happens at my appointment?
If you’ve already had a consultation, we can move straight into your treatment with your personalised plan in place.
If you’re booking directly, we’ll begin with a short discussion about your skin, routine, medical history, and goals before starting your treatment.
Your experience is fully tailored, from the treatment itself to the feel of the room—whether you prefer calm and cosy or light and refreshing.
I use the Dermapen 4 for my microneedling, which allows me to electronically change needle depth during treatment, alongside carefully selected, results-focused products from Dermaceuticals and Clinicare enabling me to treat a wide range of superficial to more in-depth skin problems.

results & aftercare
You can expect to experience some redness following your procedure, which can feel tight and dry, similar to mild sunburn. This is known as downtime, and can last 2-24 hours depending on your skincare goals.
Since we have broken the skin barrier, it is essential to keep the treated area clean, and focus on hydration, repair and protection. I provide a luxury aftercare package with full-size products (no samples) to support your skin and optimise results.
Please note: contents may vary, and SPF is selected based on your individual skin needs.
You may notice an improvement in skin tone and glow quite quickly, with continued benefits developing over the full skin cycle (around 4–6 weeks). Consistent aftercare, sun protection, and regular treatments will help achieve the best long-term results.
FAQ's
Does it hurt?
I chose the Dermapen 4 for several reasons, one of which was comfort. It is not necessary to use an anaesthetic cream prior to treatment, and having had treatment myself, it feels like someone scraping their nails over your skin, and is not as uncomfortable as having a tattoo.
That being said, if your skincare goal is to boost collagen and reduce signs of aging, I may use anaesthetic cream prior to treatment because we are needling deeper into the skin and closer to blood vessels and nerves.
Will my skin peel?
This depends on a number of factors, including the medium we use to help the pen "glide" over the skin, and the active ingredients it contains. As with mild sunburn, sometimes you will have some flaking afterwards, and sometimes the redness just goes away with no peeling.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime will depend on your skincare goals and the depth at which we need to needle the skin, but I always provide an aftercare kit to support your skin and reduce the downtime as much as possible.
How many treatments will I need?
A single treatment is effective for a special occasion or event, but for aesthetic, cosmetic or aging problems, an initial course of treatment followed by regular maintenance treatments will give the best results. The most common protocol (and the most effective) is to start with a series of 4 treatments over 4 months, followed by maintenance treatments 2-3 times per year
When will I see results?
Many people notice a glow within days, with continued improvement over several weeks. Once the redness subsides, it may look like it has healed, but the work will still be going on beneath your skin. Remember, your skin renews from the bottom layer up, so the new, treated skin will not be visible for at least 4-6 weeks
Can I have a treatment before an event?
Yes, you can have microneedling before an event, particularly if you are choosing to use hydrating, brightening products as a glide serum. Although you will see some surface level improvement within days, if you can plan to have the treatment around 4 weeks before an event, or even a course of treatments over the months before, you will see much more of a result. I would say at the least, leave 5-7 days between treatment and any event.
Is microneedling safe for sensitive skin?
Yes, when properly tailored. Your treatment will be adjusted to suit your skin type, and correct skin preperation may be needed before treatment. If you have sensitive or reactive skin, then please book a consultation before treatment so we can go through this. By stimulating the skin repair and healing process we can encourage your skins barrier function to correct itself and reduce sensitivity, as well as using hydrating, soothing and repairing glide serums to support this.
Can you only have microneedling on your face?
No! You can use microneedling on your back, shoulders, arms, legs, hands to help get active ingredients into problem areas, and encourage better collagen / elastin organisation and thickening of the skin.
What should I avoid after my treatment?
I will give you aftercare instructions, but you should avoid picking / scratching the skin, rubbing any treated areas, active ingredients in your cosmetic / beauty products, strenuous exercise, excessive heat or sauna, and swimming. You should also clean your mobile phone and change your pillow case.
Do I need to wear SPF after a treatment?
Yes, daily SPF is essential to protect your skin and maintain results. Even on cloudy days, UV rays can penetrate cloud cover and cause damage. SPF30 or above is advised everyday, but it doesnt have to be a seperate product, check for skincare, moisturisers and makeup that already contain SPF. I also suggest avoiding sun exposure on any treated areas for 7 days.
